Our Story

Matt & Alice​

The Daily Maple newsletter is curated and written by Matt & Alice. We started this project after noticing a couple problems with the news. First, Canadian news is often boring and difficult to follow without a lot of background information. Secondly, it’s hard to stay updated on important events without overloading yourself with bad news. As a result, whenever we read the news, we would find ourselves feeling guilty that we weren’t more informed, and often didn't understand the context of that new bill or know who that minister was. 

 

​The work that journalists do is so important, and we aren’t looking to replace that. The Daily Maple is intended as a platform to make Canadian news engaging and digestible, empowering readers to actually understand what’s going on in Canada.
